Ever wonder why World of Warcraft has such a devout following? The reason is because of a concept known as addiciton based game design. It’s used in a variety of games to draw the user in, and get them hooked. It has made Blizzard millions, and these concepts can be used when designing web applications and other kinds of programming as well.
Today is a day that many think, hope, and believe that change has to come to these United States of America. During Barack Obama’s Inauguration, two things stood out to me. The biggest thing that kills people’s internet dream of making money online is that they have been so poisoned by the idea of “I made $xxxx in x hours, and you can too!” that they don’t realize how much effort it takes, especially when getting started.
The number one thing that kills most blogs is that people cannot update them regularly. Maybe they lose interest or move on to other projects, or are just to busy. I’ll be honest, it’s happened to me before.
