End of the Adsense Challenge / December Progress Report

As December is coming to a close, we are all getting over the stomach aches of Christmas leftovers, and preparing for the viscious hangovers that await us on New Year’s Day. It also means that it’s the end of the adsense challenge, and time to take a look at all the sites I own, and see how they are doing. So let’s get started:

1. FretFeed.com (The Adsense Challenge)’

Uniques: 980

Change from last month: +308%

Total Adsense Revenue: $2.67

As you can see, I fell waaaaay short of the $100 goal.  Maybe January will work out a little bit better for FretFeed.

January goals: More content, more link building, and trying to push traffic to getting a few hundred uniques a day.

AthensBarHopper.com

Uniques: 116

Change from last month: -62%

While the new layout is in place, I still haven’t got all of the new info up yet. I’ll probably have it officially relaunched in early ‘09.

Chromand.com

Uniques: 495

Change from last month: +253%

Had a bit more traffic than the prior months. mostly due to Twitter (I have over 1,000 followers now). I also just switched over the domain and title of the blog, with a new Theme to go with it, which is currently is the last stages of getting ready, which means fixing all the little javascript and CSS kinks out.

So overall, it’s been a positive month, And I’m glad a little progress was made here in spite of finals and the holidays.  Hopefully I will be able to make some more strides in January.

  1. Well, it’s nice to see that there are people who make even less money than me :o

It’s no wonder that people like John Chow have jumped off the AdSense trail a long time ago.

Anyway, this was a very cool challenge, thank you for telling the truth ;)

All the best and much success to you in 2009!

  2. Thanks for the input. I think Adsense may still be viable for some sites, I just don’t think this was a good one.
