PayPerPost - A new Blogging Montezation Method

I recently signed on to be a member of PayPerPost, a blog network that pays you for making certain types of blog posts.  I had read about it on the DigitalPoint Forums, and it got a lot of positive feedback, so I decided to sign-up and see how it all works.

So far, PayPerPost looks like quite a nifty service for both the publisher and the advertiser.  The works like this: Advertisers sign on to pay publishers for writing blog posts on their blogs about certain products or topics, usually back linking to the advertiser.

It’s great for the advertiser, because they are getting the best kind of advertising: ads that don’t appear to be ads. They look just like any regular posts in a blog, which is a good way for them to get some grassroots marketing done. I haven’t seen the numbers, but I would imagine that advertising like this would have a higher CTR and conversion rate than something less personal and detached, like PPC. Also, it gets them a permanent link/promotion, as long as that blog stays up.

It’s also great for the publishers. Some bloggers have trouble coming up with post ideas and keeping their blog up-to-date. In fact, this is probably the #1 killer of new blogs. Although I wouldn’t recommend overdoing it, as it might make your blog look to spammy and cost you some readers. It’s also good because as a publisher, YOU get the final say over what goes up on your site. You write the posts, and you choose the offers, so you’re never endorsing a product you don’t want to or don’t believe in.

Overall I think it’s a cool system, and definitely worth checking into. The higher PR and Alexa rank you have, the more opportunities you have open to you. So if you’re a blogger, and Adsense or Affiliate Marketing just hasn’t been cutting it for you, you may want to check out PayPerPost.
